Detailed Specifications

Dealer Notes

The 2019 Honda Pilot is the modern family SUV. The exterior design is both rugged and refined, with a bold front grille that integrates beautifully with the available LED headlights with auto on/off. Smooth lines and an aerodynamic body complement this SUV’s EarthDreams engine and lighter chassis, making for one fuel efficient vehicle. Bright 20in alloy wheels plus LED taillights stop onlookers in their tracks. Inside, available second-row captain’s chairs give your passengers the first-class treatment, while one-touch second-row seats give you easy access to the third row. Get a broader view with the available power moonroof, plus with seating up to 8, multiple seating configurations ensure you have room for the whole family. It’s a breeze to load up with the available hands-free access power tailgate. Not to mention, with 109 cu. ft. of cargo volume when the 60/40 split second- and third-row seats are folded down, the spacious cargo area offers plenty of room. The second- and third-row seats also fold completely flat. The Pilot offers a range of convenient features including an 8in touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility and more. You’ll also find a comprehensive suite of safety features such as cross traffic monitor, blind spot information system, multi-angle rearview camera, collision mitigation braking system and more.

  • Make sure you buy an extended warranty

The 5th Honda in our family and 3rd Pilot, and unfortunately our last. Despite great styling, lots of good features (which requires the ‘Elite’ model), very comfortable ride, and surprisingly good fuel economy, that legendary Japanese reliability has clearly faded. At just over 50K miles the fuel injectors needed replacing - a $1500 repair if we hadn’t bought the $1700 extended warranty, and at just over 60K miles the A/C compressor failed (on a boiling hot day while we were out of state of course) which was a $2000 repair without the warranty.
  • This is a great SUV.

I purchased a new Pilot EX-L for my wife in Feb. It has 2400 miles on it now. I was a bit reluctant to purchase a Pilot after reading the negative comments - poor engine power, bad handling, bad infotainment system, etc. , from some owners on this site. We also looked at the Edge and Highlander; however my wife wanted the Pilot because it drove and handled more like a car than a truck. And Im really glad she did. At 280 HP, the engine smooth, quiet, and has plenty of power. I also think the handling is quite exceptional for a large SUV. My wife claims the voice command and music off her i phone works great. The Pilot is one of the most comfortable vehicles Ive ridden in and it has loads of room. The only negativeI can find is the power tailgate doesnt fit perfectly. The seam on the left side is almost a 1/16th of an inch wider than the seam on the right side. This is an anomaly because the fit and finish inside and out on the rest of the Pilot is perfect. I highly recommend the Pilot if you are looking for an SUV this size.
  • Worst financial decision ever

We bought a Honda Pilot based on the features for the price and the reliability and longevity of the Brand. Unfortunately, we have had nothing but problems with our Pilot, starting with intermittent power steering issues and a faulty alternator at 10,000 miles. Multiple check engine lights resulting in a new catalytic convert at 20,000 mile as well as a faulty radiator fan that came loose on the freeway splitting the radiator. At this point we had owned the car 18 months and request that Honda buy it back as it clearly had issues during the manufacturing process, Honda refused stating that there was nothing wrong with the car, putting profits before people. Now 28 months into car ownership at 46,000 miles the car had to be towed to the dealer and now I am told that I need to replace the whole fuel injection system, that this repair is out of warranty and will cost $1600. In all my years owning cars I have had to have more work done and replaced parts I have never had to replace on similar cars from different brands with well over 100,000 miles on them. Paired the lack of customer service from Honda of America, I would have to warn anyone considering this car to purchase to beware!
